A Moment Before the Madness: My First Pre-Christmas Home Party.
As the holiday season rolls in, we all feel it, the pressure, the planning, the endless list of obligations. Family dinners, school plays, last-minute gift shopping and coordinating who brings what to Christmas Eve. It’s beautiful, yes, but also... exhausting.
That’s exactly why I decided to organize my very first big home party, not during Christmas, but about a week and a half before the festivities begin.
I wanted to create something different. A moment of joy, laughter and connection without the chaos. A cozy gathering just for friends, no kids, no stress, no holiday formalities. Just good music, good food, a few cocktails and the freedom to simply be together.
The idea was simple: before everyone gets caught up in the whirlwind of the holidays, let’s take a pause. Let’s breathe and celebrate friendship in the calm before the Christmas storm.
And honestly? It was one of the best decisions I’ve made. My living room turned into a little sanctuary of warmth and fun. People let their hair down, stayed longer than planned and left saying “We needed this.”
Sometimes, the most magical moments aren’t the ones on the calendar but the ones we make room for just before life speeds up.
And this might just become a new tradition. And yes, it sure did.

In the soft twilight between moments, time slows just enough for magic to find us. ❤️
Oh ik wil echt dat soort feesten!
Great story, very inspiring! It sounds like memories for life have been made.
Such a wonderful new tradition, what a great idea!
